"I had an idea and FCTO matched me with a CTO who shipped the MVP, rebuilt the architecture twice, and scaled it to 500K+ users."

He turned my side project into my main business. Thinks like a founder, not a contractor.
Gourav had the idea. The CTO matched through FCTO made it real.
Gourav is a technical founder and indie hacker. He'd shipped Notion Boost, Clone Wars, and several Chrome extensions. JetWriter was one of many ideas: an AI writing assistant that lives in your browser and helps you write anywhere. He had the vision but was juggling multiple projects and needed someone to build it into his main business.
He asked the CTO to take the idea from concept to product.
The CTO shipped the MVP before a GPT API even existed, and installs started pouring in
When they started, there was no GPT API. None. The only way to use GPT was through the web interface. The CTO figured out how to wrap that into a Chrome extension that could generate text on any page. They shipped it as ChatGPT Writer and started getting installs immediately.
Speed mattered. They were live and collecting feedback while competitors were still planning.
GPT released an API, Claude launched, Gemini followed. The CTO rebuilt everything.
OpenAI released the API. Claude came out. Gemini followed. What worked last month was outdated this month.
The CTO rebuilt the architecture so users could switch between GPT, Claude, and Gemini mid-conversation. The entire system for handling prompts, responses, and switching between AI models had to be redesigned. The extension stayed under 1MB.
User feedback drove rapid expansion: Gmail integration (learning from past emails to reply in your voice), LinkedIn, Slack, WhatsApp Web, Outlook, Freshdesk, Zendesk. Each platform with its own layout and rules for how extensions can interact. The CTO built them all.
The CTO built a system that learns your writing style and replies in your voice
Growth was strong. Revenue came in within six months. But there was a gap: the AI generated good text but it didn't sound like *you*.
The CTO built a system that reads your past conversations, learns your writing style, and generates replies that actually sound like you wrote them, all running right inside the browser extension. It could also chat with any webpage or document.
This was the unlock. Users went from "this is useful" to "I can't work without this."
