Why would you do this for free? What do you get out of it?
When we successfully match a founder with a fractional CTO, the expert pays us a one-time fee of 10% of their first month. That's it. We earn nothing from you. This keeps our incentives aligned: we only win when the match works.
What does the 10% actually look like in practice?
If a fractional CTO charges $10,000/month, they pay us $1,000 once after the first month. No ongoing percentage, no recurring fees. After that first month, the entire relationship is between you and the CTO. We step out.
Will I ever be asked to pay anything, even later?
No. Not for matching, not for introductions, not for rematching, not for access to guides. There is no point in the process where a founder is charged. If that ever changes, we'll shut down first.
How much does a fractional CTO typically cost?
Rates vary by experience and hours. Most fractional CTOs in our network charge $3,000–$15,000/month for 5–20 hours/week. Compare that to a full-time CTO at $250K–$400K/year plus equity. You get the same strategic value at a fraction of the cost.
Can I start small and scale up later?
Absolutely. Most founders start with 5–10 hours/week and adjust as they grow. Some scale up to full-time, others scale back once their team is set up. There are no contracts locking you into a specific number of hours.
What if I need to pause or end the engagement?
You work directly with the CTO. There are no lock-in periods or cancellation fees from our side. The terms of the engagement are between you and the expert. Most arrangements are month-to-month.
